Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Loryne

At Little Woodland Preschool our staff starts to feel like they are a part of your family. We want to put a spotlight on those staff members so you can get to know each of them a bit more, and why they are so passionate about teaching your children at LWP.

Here is a little about Ms. Loryne:

What classroom are you in at LWP?

I am the Assistant Director in the office but you can see me in all the different classrooms too.

What is your education pertaining to early childhood education?

I am a a level eleven on the registry and also work with the Farm to ECE program.

What is your favorite thing about Little Woodland or something that makes a day great?

My favorite thing about Little Woodland is how much of a family everyone is here.

Tell us about your favorite activity to do in the classroom?

I enjoy art activities and creating a garden with all the kids.

When you are not at LWP what are your favorite things to do?

My son loves cows so we often go to the farm to see the cows and spend our afternoons there.

Share with us a little about your family.

I am married to my husband Jon and we have two kids, Chloe (age 7) and Kaiden (age 3). We live in Jefferson. In our free time we spend a lot of time outside on different adventures.

What/Who Inspires you?

There is so much around me that inspires me to be better each day.

What is your favorite teaching quote or philosophy?

"Let the children be free: encourage them; let them run outside when it is raining: let them remove their shoes when they find a puddle of water."

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I would love to travel to Italy or another country. Many countries teach in different ways and would love to see how classrooms are set up and the way their curriculum is put together.
